A typical historic Venetian trattoria since 1931 in the large square of Campo delle Gatte or Campo Ugo Foscolo named after the poet who was born and lived right in this square. Trattoria Dal Vecio Squeri situated in Sestier di Castello, is just a few minutes from the main site of the Biennale, and it is possible to arrive by gondola at moorings.
It has been family-run since 2000 by Katia, in the dining room, and Enrico, in the kitchen, and comprises two indoor dining rooms with seating for 60 and an outdoor terrace in the square with seating for about 20.

Vecio Squeri is the right place to rediscover not only a friendly atmosphere but also the flavours of the best homely cooking.
An à la Carte menu offers tasty traditional Venetian specialities, which means fish cuisine featuring freshly caught fish.

Small groups are welcome for up to 25 people maximum with a choice of tourist menus at a set price.

At the Trattoria Dal Vecio Squeri the menu varies with the seasons, dishes are only prepared using fresh products bought on the same day, therefore the menu changes according to the chef’s creativity and what is to be found on the fish and fruit/vegetable market stalls.
The menu also follows a daily theme, for example, on Fridays you will surely find “baccalà” until the month of May and variations for other days.
It is the only trattoria in Venice that provides a set price menu for children, €12, including a soft drink.
